**Lesson Plan:**
1. **Introduction (10 minutes):**

- Show pictures of the historical figures to be covered in the lesson.
2. **Story Time (15 minutes):**
- Read aloud a simplified biography or story about George Washington. Emphasize key points such as his role in the American Revolution and being the first President of the United States.
- Follow up with a similar story about Abraham Lincoln, focusing on his leadership during the Civil War and the emancipation of slaves.
3. **Interactive Activity (15 minutes):**
- Divide the students into small groups and distribute flashcards with key facts about Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. Have students discuss why these figures are important.
- Each group can share one fact they learned about each figure with the class.
4. **Creative Task (10 minutes):**
- Give students drawing paper and crayons. Ask them to draw their favorite historical figure from the lesson and write one sentence about why this person is significant.
5. **Discussion and Reflection (5 minutes):**
- Facilitate a short discussion where students can share their drawings and sentences with the class. Encourage them to explain why they chose that particular person and what they found interesting.
